What is the FOHBC Virtual Museum?

The FOHBC Virtual Museum has been established to display, inform, educate, and enhance the enjoyment of historical bottle and glass collecting by providing an online virtual museum experience for significant historical bottles and other items related to early glass.

It is the culmination of many years of planning, organizing, and developing the museum website and then thousands of hours of volunteer work taking photos and putting the 360 degree spins up in each gallery (now over 800 bottles!).

What is the FOHBC?

The Federation of Historical Bottle Collectors (FOHBC) is a non-profit organization supporting collectors of historical bottles, flasks, jars, and related items. The FOHBC promoteS the collection, study, preservation and display of historical bottles and related artifacts and shares this information with other collectors and individuals.

Mission and Goals

The FOHBC Virtual Museum has been established to display, inform, educate, and enhance the enjoyment of historical bottle and glass collecting by providing an online virtual museum experience.

Governance

The governing body of the FOHBC Virtual Museum is the Virtual Museum Ad Hoc Committee, and this executive bodyis responsible for making policy decisions and implementing all current bylaws and programs, as well as the day-to-day operations of the FOHBC Virtual Museum. The Ad Hoc Committee consists of:

  • Alan DeMaison, FOHBC Virtual Museum Developer and Treasurer
  • Richard Siri, FOHBC Director-at-Large
  • Matt Lacy, FOHBC Director-at-Large
  • Doug Simms, FOHBC Special Projects Director and Webmaster

Budget & Funding

The FOHBC Virtual Museum relies on donations and FOHBC membership subscriptions to grow and sustain. Your support enables the Museum to share its collection and information with thousands of visitors each year, helping the widest possible audience to understand and enjoy American Historical Bottles and Glass.

We seek collectors that have researched bottles and glass from their areas of expertise and know the history about them. The FOHBC Virtual Museum relies on volunteers to assist with providing historical content.
